Structural Design
We are able to produce conceptual designs that are optimized for both thermal and mechanical performance. Our designs are supplemented by our structural analysis capabilities, and we are able to support your instrument’s journey throughout its development phase. With our knowledge and experience, we also support the design of mechanical ground support equipment to suit instrument test and transport requirements.
Structural Analysis
We use the Finite Element Method (FEM) to describe the behaviour of a structure from early conceptual phases up to the final sizing in conjunction with analytical methods and classical hand calculation. We use MSC NASTRAN, for state-of-the-art solver technology together with MSC APEX and PATRAN as pre- and post-processing tools.
Mechanical Testing
Our mechanical test support service spans all types of vibration and shock tests required for space instrument development. We are able to offer our clients comprehensive test support, which sees space instruments through development, qualification, and acceptance test campaigns. We support our clients in producing test documentation including specification and procedures as well as test reports.
